Richmond Spiders power forward, Justin Harper from Meadowbrook HS has been drafted last night into the NBA. Harper was selected as the 32nd pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic traded for the 6-foot-10, 225-pound Richmond native later Thursday evening.

The Washington Wizards has just unveiled their new uniforms today for the 2011 – 2012 season. These remodeled jerseys make them the Bullets again.. without the name. They are on sale now via the Wizards Store or the NBA Store.

Michael Vick is the new Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback!

Andy Reid announced yesterday that Michael Vick will be replacing Kevin Kolb as the starting QB for the Eagles.

“When someone is playing at the level Michael Vick is playing, you have to give him an opportunity,” Reid said. “This isn’t about Kevin Kolb’s play. You’re talking about Michael Vick as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL right now.”

Michael Vick has returned to the NFL and just signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. There will be a news conference Thursday morning to announce his signing.

Vick was the No. 1 draft pick in 2001, and once the highest-paid player in football. But he has not played since 2006 when his career came tumbling down. He was convicted in August 2007 of conspiracy and running a dogfighting operation, sentenced to 23 months in federal prison and suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

But after serving his time and being released from home confinement July 20, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell conditionally lifted Vick’s suspension, allowing him to sign with a team.

The Eagles will play Vick’s prior team, the Atlanta Falcons, in Week 13 (Dec. 6)

Unfortunately it does not look like he will be in Madden NFL 2010 yet but don’t rule out the possibility of a downloadable addition in the future.
